Marr Community Policing Team - Spring 2026

Neighbourhood Watch is a nationwide community led initiative to bring local people together to address crime and other community issues including safety and environment. During summer 2024, B2C2 elected to revitalise our Neighbourhood Watch scheme by establishing a Whatsapp group to provide a means of connecting the community on broad issues affecting the community.

This group provides a means for anyone to send an alert through WhatsApp. If you see something wrong or worth reporting, use Neighbourhood Watch Whatsapp. The Neighbourhood Watch Coordinator will monitor and if appropriate elevate the issue to say Police or Council. Equally if you have lost something, need help use Neighbourhood Watch Whatsapp.

To help keep this group useful and welcoming for everyone, please follow these simple guidelines:

1.  Keep discussions relevant.

This group is for Neighbourhood Watch matters only, including sharing information about local safety, suspicious activity, crime prevention, community alerts, community events and requests for assistance.

2. Be Respectful

Treat all members with courtesy and respect. Differences of opinion are natural, but please remain polite at all times.

3. Avoid personal comments.

Do not post messages that criticise, target, or make personal comments about individuals, businesses, organisations, or other group members. If you have a complaint or concern please raise it directly with the appropriate person or organisation

4. Think before you post.

Only share information that is relevant, factual, and, where possible, verified. Avoid spreading rumours or unconfirmed information.

5. Respect privacy.

Do not share personal information, photographs, or videos of others without their permission, unless it is appropriate and necessary for a genuine Neighbourhood Watch or police matter.

6.  Admin decisions.

Group administrators may remind members of these guidelines and, where necessary, remove posts or members to help keep the group focused and respectful.

We want  to keep our neighbourhood informed, safe, and supportive.

What is WhatsApp?

WhatsApp is a free to use instant messaging service. To use you must first install the app on your mobile phone or Windows or Mac computer. WhatsApp requires an internet connection through either a mobile data network or Wi-fi. You also need a phone number (mobile) to register.

For Neighbourhood Watch to be effective, it requires your participation. How do I join the group? The easiest way is to follow this Link <https://chat.whatsapp.com/FaX5LheQi5RCv74a49hR25>. You will need to have downloaded the WhatsApp app. Alternatively, you can confirm your mobile number to the email below. We can then add you to the group. If you decide in this future this is not for you, you can easily remove yourself from the group.
