Aboyne bridge has been closed to vehicles since 2024. All the documents issued by Aberdeenshire Council are available at this website.
Following the failed attempts to repair the bridge in the two previous years, in early 2026 there was a general consensus that a better approach would be for all the interested groups worked together to provide Aberdeenshire council with a single community focus point. Subsequently Birse & Ballogie Community Council (B2C2) met with Mid Deeside Community Council (MDCC) and Fix Aboyne Bridge group (FAB) on several occasions to discuss how a single grouping might work and to develop and agree terms of reference. The outcome of these meetings was to generate terms of reference for a group to be known as ABAC (Aboyne Bridge Action Committee).

Aboyne Business Association – Alastair White
At the first meeting, it was agreed that Dale Kitching would chair and Alastair White would act as Secretary.
